An upstart Columbus Community softball team recently saw five players recognized by the Southeast Iowa Super Conference being named to the 2021 all conference teams.

The Wildcats had two players named to the first team in senior Emma Milder and eighth grader Lily Coil. Milder was a unanimous selection as an outfielder and she racked up a .417 on base percentage while scoring the most times on the team with 26 runs. Coil was the only eighth grader selected to the first team north division as a utility player and she busted onto the scene by leading the squad with a .462 average and brought in 14 runs. She also did a bulk of the work in the circle with a 2.66 ERA in 87 innings. Jocelyn Fulton was the lone second team selection. The sophomore provided some power with three home runs and recorded a .381 OBP. Victoria Howell and Sera Vela were recognized as honorable mention. Howell brought in five tallies and Vela was plated nine times.

The Wildcats finished the summer 10-16, their most wins since 2015.
