Mid-Prairie head baseball coach Kyle Mullet has brought home some hardware in his first season. After a 2021 that saw the Golden Hawks win their second straight district title and take the south division of the River Valley Conference, Mullet was named Coach of the Year in the River Valley South.
Under Mullet’s watch, the Golden Hawks led class 2A with a team batting average of .349 while posting a 3.66 team ERA. The Hawks won back-to-back district championships for the first time since 2006-7. They were champions of the River Valley South with their 14-4 mark in league play, edging Durant by one half game. They ended the season in the substate round of the 2A playoffs with a 19-8 overall record.
