The Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball team cleaned up with seven all-conference selections named by the Southeast Iowa Superconference this week.
That list is highlighted by three first team all-SEISC selections. Two of those unanimously. Infielder Eli Ours was one of the consensus picks. The Raven senior hit .322 with an on base percentage of .557, second in the Superconference. He finished with 35 runs scored, second in the Superconference, to go along with 19 hits and 18RBI. He was a perfect 23 of 23 in stolen bases this year, fifth most in the Superconference. On the mound, Ours finished with a 3-4 record in 45 innings and a 3.27 ERA with 62 strikeouts.
Senior London Schrock was also a unanimous first team selection at catcher. Schrock hit .405 for the year, sixth in the Superconference. He compiled 32 total hits, fourth most in the league, 34RBI, second most and tied for the Superconference lead with three home runs. He also scored 24 times. Behind the plate, he threw out 60% of would be stealers and finished with a 94% fielding percentage on 150 total chances, recording 129 put outs, fourth most in the conference. On the mound, Schrock threw 29 innings with a 2-3 record and 3.62 ERA.
Sophomore Luke Schrock was a first team all league pick at utility. He led the Ravens and was fifth in the conference with a .407 average at the plate. His 33 hits were second in the conference, so were his 34 RBI, his 26 runs scored were seventh most. On the mound, Schrock served as the Raven’s closer, posting two saves, 26 innings of work and a 3.27 ERA. He had 35 strikeouts.
Sophomore Jace Rempel was a second team all-SEISC selection on the infield. He hit .387 for the year, ninth in the Superconference. He piled up 29 hits, seventh most in the league to go with 23 RBI, ninth most and 18 runs scored.
Junior Noah Miller was a second team pick in the outfield. Miller hit .358 with 29 total hits, seventh most in the conference. He scored 33 times, fourth most in the league and drove in 13. Though he was awarded for his work in the outfield, Miller led the Superconference throwing out eight would be basestealers on the season. He finished with a .971 fielding percentage during his time at catcher and outfield. On the mound, Miller was 1-0 with a 1.56ERA in 18 innings, striking out 34.
Hillcrest had two honorable mention picks with sophomore Josiah Beachy and eighth grader Seth Ours. Beachy hit .217, with 15 total hits, 15 runs scored and 15 RBI. He accounted for 103 put outs in the field at first base, seventh most in the Superconference, finishing with a .957 fielding percentage. He worked eight innings on the mound with a 1-0 record and 5.88 ERA. Ours joined the starting lineup midway through the season, hitting .289 with 11 total hits, 10 runs scored and six driven in. On the mound, he posted a 2-0 record with a 0.70ERA. That ERA was second in the Superconference. His WHIP of 0.70 was also second in the Superconference and fifth in class 1A and opponents hit a paltry .118 against him.
The Ravens finished the year with a 14-10 overall record and a 9-7 mark in league play, finishing fourth in the north division of the Superconference.
