A Mount Pleasant man was arrested on firearm charges Tuesday.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at approximately 6:45 a.m. at 800 North Palm Avenue in Mount Pleasant. Twenty-seven year-old Trey Alexander Lewis was arrested upon further investigation and charged with control of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony. Lewis was arrested earlier this month and brought up on charges of control of firearm by a felon, a class D felony; two counts of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor; possession or carrying of dangerous weapons while under the influence of alcohol, a serious misdemeanor; and reckless use of a firearm, a simple misdemeanor.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol Tactical Unit, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and Mount Pleasant and Burlington Police Departments. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
