It’s officially here! The fall sports season starts this week at Mid-Prairie High School with Golden Hawk football camp. Camp meets today through Thursday with those in fifth through eighth grades having a daily session from 5-6:20p.m. and freshmen through seniors taking the field from 6:30-8:30p.m. The camp will include daily instruction from Mid-Prairie staff regarding technique of fundamentals, position specific drills, teamwork activities and skill competitions. Camp will be held daily at the practice field behind Mid-Prairie High School. The Golden Hawks went 4-4 last season including a playoff win over Central Lee in the opening round, before falling 18-15 to Tipton in the second round of the 2A postseason. The Golden Hawks first live action of the year will be Friday, August 20th when they host West Liberty in a Gatorade Scrimmage. They will officially kick off the season Friday, August 27th when they host class 3A West Burlington Notre Dame.
