The Kalona City Council held their first reading to approve an ordinance for the Northridge subdivision Monday.
Discussion on adding “Stop” and “No Parking” signs to the Northridge subdivision began during their previous meeting on July 19th. The first reading on an ordinance amending the Kalona Code of Ordinances took place and added intersections to the original map provided to the council. Kalona City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh provides details for the proposed map, “The Planning and Zoning had made a recommendation on some no parking areas so we asked them to provide us with a map that showed where those signs should be placed along with ‘No Parking’ and ‘Stop’ signs.”
This ordinance will allow the city to place those necessary signs and allow law enforcement to properly enforce these areas. Future readings will take place before the ordinance is adopted.
