The Washington City Council added another person to their city administrator search committee Tuesday.
During their regular meeting Mayor Jaron Rosien presented a resolution to add Council Member Elaine Moore to the committee at her request, as she expressed that she has a knowledge of the public and private sector’s needs for this position which was left by Brent Hinson this month. The committee also includes Council Member Illa Earnest as she had decades of experience working for the city, as well as Rosien, Finance Director Kelsey Brown, Police Chief Jim Lester, and City Clerk Sally Hart. The council approved that Moore be added, as Council Member Danielle Pettit-Majewski commented that if Moore has the time and desire to assist in narrowing down the applicants to go ahead. Rosien mentioned that they have so far received eight qualified applicants for the position. The deadline for applications is August 23rd, and formal interviews are anticipated for late September.
