The high school golf season ends just as summer gets going. A pair of Mid-Prairie golfers are heating up the Iowa Junior PGA Tour right along with the weather.

Sophomore-to-be Drew Schlabaugh posted an individual win on the tour at the 15U Junior Event, Monday at Stone Creek Golf Course in Williamsburg. Schlabaugh beat the field with a two-over-par score of 38.  His round included two birdies and four pars. Nathan Boehlert of Ankeny was second with a six-over-par 42. Schlabaugh earned 140 player of the year points with the victory.

Mid-Prairie class of 2021 member Dominic McCain had his best finish of the summer Monday, July 12th at the Southeast Iowa Junior PGA Championship event at The Preserve on Lake Rathbun. McCain finished in third place with an eight-over-par 80. Drake Polley won the title with a five-over 77. McCain’s card had two birdies and nine pars. He earned 120 player of the year points for his finish.
