Three people sustained injuries in a vehicle collision in Louisa County Thursday.

At 8:35 a.m. an unnamed driver of a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo was traveling northbound on K Avenue approaching Highway 78 and failed to stop at the stop sign intersection. The Monte Carlo drove in front of a Chevy Impala traveling eastbound on 78. After being struck, the driver of the Monte Carlo was ejected from the vehicle and landed in the northeast ditch of the roadway where the Impala would also eventually come to a rest. One passenger in the Impala was transported by Wapello Ambulance and a second passenger was transported by Morning Sun Ambulance to Great River Health in Burlington. The driver of the Monte Carlo was transported by Medforce to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Transportation, Morning Sun Fire and Ambulance, and Midwest Towing also assisted at the scene. Names of those involved are being withheld at this time. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
