The Washington County Riverboat Foundation is seeking to fill a vacancy on their board of directors.

The foundation is accepting applications from anyone who resides in the Brighton area to fill one director position. Executive Director Patty Koller notes that directors do not represent the areas where they live or work but represent the entire Washington County area. Eligible persons will be required to undergo an extensive background check by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation and be required to attend meetings at different locations around the county. Both meeting time and travel is uncompensated as this is a volunteer position.

The foundation is the non-profit affiliate and gaming license holder for the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, and provides significant financial resources to non-profit organizations and local governments to complete projects that make the Washington County area a better place to live and work. Deadline for submitting applications is September 10th.
