The Iowa State Fair welcomes the public back today after COVID-19 restricted events this year, and area residents are invited to come to Des Moines to help promote a local community.

Volunteers are needed to fill a number of different positions at the Kalona Chamber of Commerce booth at the Varied Industries Building. Kalona Chamber Director Tonia Poole encourages anyone who has a connection to Kalona to come out and volunteer, “If you are familiar with Kalona at all and want other people to know how great it is, you would be a fabulous volunteer at the fair.”

The booth celebrates the many tastes and textiles that can be found in Kalona, with businesses including Kalona Noodles, J.K. Woods Jewelry, Wooden Wheel,  and Kalona Brewing Company. The state fair lasts now through August 22nd. Those who would like to volunteer or want more information can visit here.
