A Bettendorf man was arrested Tuesday for violating his probation a second time this year in Washington County.

The Washington County Communications Center was informed by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office that they had wanted suspect 38-year-old Billy Edward Stage. Stage is serving three years probation with a suspended five-year prison sentence for a conviction of second-degree theft and forgery, both class D felonies, for incidents that occurred on February 13, 2020. A probation violation report that was filed on July 22nd includes Stage admitting to smoking methamphetamine and failing to attend scheduled appointments with his supervising officer.

For his first probation violation in April Stage was ordered to serve 180 days in the Washington County Jail, obtain a substance abuse evaluation and undergo all treatment recommended by healthcare professionals or his probation officer, and continue to serve his probation.
