The Mid-Prairie Middle School is set to start the upcoming school year with their new principal.
Incoming principal Rob Hruby was brought into the school district earlier this spring and has been getting acclimated to the school and district over the course of the summer. This year will also serve as his first year as a principal. Hruby has previous experience working in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids school districts. He earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership with a principalship emphasis last summer from University of Northern Iowa. Hruby shares his excitement for the start of the school year and being able to work with the staff around him, “I think that everybody at this school, they’re student centered and they’re ready to get back here so they can, you know, do what they do best and that’s helping kids. And I think that’s what we’re all excited for this year.”
While Hruby takes on his first year as a principal during an ongoing pandemic, he says he’s ready to support his students and staff in any way possible and looks forward to having everyone back in the building. The Golden Hawks will be starting the school year on August 23rd.
