The first look at the 2021 Washington football team is tomorrow night when the Demons welcome Muscatine for the annual Gatorade scrimmage.

The Demons are coming off of a district title season where they went 8-1, but must fill 12 spots lost to graduation. Ethan Patterson and Ethan Zieglowsky have been taking reps at quarterback to replace all stater Trashaun Willis. As a sophomore, Patterson completed seven of 11 passes for 131 yards and three touchdowns. The Muskies were 3-5 last fall, a two win improvement from 2019.

New Washington Head Coach Nick Ehret tells KCII Sports this is a great measuring stick type night. “This is a really good opportunity to see your guys in action when there is no win or loss at stake. You can get good evaluation, see where you are at, and look for tweaks you need to make before week one.”

The freshman and junior varsity will start at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow with the varsity scrimmage set to begin at 7 p.m. Admission to the event at Case Field is a bottle of gatorade.
