The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a personnel change request and a fund swap agreement for the secondary roads department this week.
The change request is to move new Assistant Maintenance Superintendent Tim Kleese’s start date to August 17th. County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained that there was a typo on the hiring personnel change request form, as upon hiring Kleese was to start with 80 hours of vacation time. The board was then presented an Iowa Department of Transportation agreement for federal-aid swap County Highway Bridge Program funding. This funding is for a bridge replacement on Juniper Avenue two miles east of Brighton. Estimated total cost of the project is $400,000. Bid letting for the work is expected in December.
