From hot and humid days to rainy nights southeast Iowa has seen a large range of weather patterns this week.
Washington received the most rain in August so far on Wednesday, as the National Weather Service received spotter reports of 2.38 inches of rain at 9:20 a.m. in Washington, and 2.25 inches at 5:30 a.m. in Riverside. While no wind reports have been received for Washington County, a tree fell early Wednesday morning onto the driveway of a residence in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington, according to the Washington County Communications Center. The highest temperature of the month was also recorded Wednesday with 94 degrees. Chances of thunderstorms are predicted through Friday with highs reaching the lower 90s for the rest of the week.
