A Washington man was arrested after a vehicle pursuit Wednesday.

The Washington County Communications Center was informed at 1:45 p.m. of a suspect who jumped into a white Dodge diesel truck and took off eastbound near the intersection of North 4th Avenue and East 3rd Street in Washington. The Washington Police Department responded and Washington County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen vehicle near the intersection of County Road G36 and North 12th Avenue when a pursuit ensued. The suspect, 40-year-old William Franklon Salyers, eventually pulled over near the intersection of G36 and Underwood Avenue just west of Highway 218. Salyers was arrested and charged with felony eluding, operating a vehicle without owner’s consent, an aggravated misdemeanor, and operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.
