A Washington-based physician who faced multiple charges from the Iowa Board of Medicine recently entered into a settlement agreement.

The board announced that on August 19th, Lynette I. Iles, M.D. was issued a citation and warning and she voluntarily surrendered her Iowa medical license. On July 23rd, the board filed a statement of charges alleging that Dr. Iles engaged in professional incompetence with respect to her care of multiple patients, including failure to maintain adequate medical records, failure to properly manage patients’ pain, and failure to provide appropriate medical care. The board also alleged that Dr. Iles failed to respond in a timely manner to a board-issued subpoena dated November 25, 2019, and further failed to respond to repeated attempts to follow up on the status of the subpoena from a board investigator, the board’s legal director, and an assistant attorney general, and only responded after the board compelled her to appear in district court regarding her failure to comply.
