Good vibes have surrounded the WACO football team so far in 2021 and they hope that trend continues tomorrow when they make a trip to Victor to face HLV in week three.
The Warriors sit at 2-0 on the young campaign and had little trouble in the first two games with a 52-0 beatdown of Twin Cedars followed by a 56-24 impressive victory over Springville. The ground game has done a bulk of the damage with 607 rushing yards so far including Simeon Reichenbach scampering 241 yards and five touchdowns. The defense has allowed just 126 yards a night with Drew Diers and Zach Schmitz each having six tackles.
HLV is 1-1 after beating Cal-Wheatland 50-0 and falling to Montezuma 56-20. Beau York is their bell cow with 230 rushing yards and reaching pay dirt seven times. These two squads met up for a classic last year with WACO squeaking out a 33-32 win.
The game gets underway at 7 p.m. Friday at HLV High School.
