all-star-tournament

The City of Wayland is moving on to the final four in the Iowa League of Cities People’s All Star Tournament competition.

Starting August 16th the Iowa League of Cities began the People’s All Star Tournament with community projects submitted from members of the league. Each round the community projects are posted on the Iowa League of Cities Facebook page for voting. At the end of each round the project with the most “likes” moves on to the next round. The City of Wayland’s West Park Westlands has faced off and won against Washington’s City Hall-Police Building Project in the first round and Stanton’s Residential and Building Benefits Package in the second round, beating both projects by more than 100 votes. In the final four Wayland will face off against Marshalltown’s renovations to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Voting for the final four ends on September 13th. The eventual winner will be recognized at the league’s 2021 annual conference and exhibit. To vote for your favorite community project visit here.
