A drive to Mediapolis translated to a tough road trip for the Columbus Community volleyball team on Thursday, as they were swept in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference showdown.

The Bulldogs (1-0) handled the best of five set match with wins of 25-13, 27-25, and 25-16. Haley Steffener paced Mediapolis with nine kills and Kennedy Welliver had 19 assists. The Wildcats were led by Victoria Howell with seven kills, Sera Vela dished out 12 assists, and the team was successful on 42 of 49 serves with seven aces. 

The Wildcats drop to 1-6 and they get back on the court tomorrow at English Valleys for a tournament.
