Iowa’s COVID-19 patients in the ICU unit as of September 2nd.
Thirty-nine COVID-19 deaths were added in Iowa this week while five more patients have been hospitalized in southeast Iowa in the past day with 50 total in intensive care.
Wednesday’s weekly update of the state coronavirus dashboard shows that 6,307 Iowans have now died due to coronavirus, while the number of Washington County deaths remains at 53. Washington County’s number of positive tests increased by 76 to 3,044, and the seven-day average positive test rate increased both for Washington County and the state at 7% and 8.6%, respectively. The Regional Medical Coordination Center Dashboard shows statewide from Wednesday to Thursday 26 hospitalizations were added with 10 more patients in the ICU. In the southeast region 135 patients are currently hospitalized.
As of Thursday, the total percentage of Iowans fully vaccinated is 49.2%. A mobile vaccine clinic is being held at the Washington Farmers Market from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, September 9th and there is no cost and no appointment needed for those 12 and older. The clinic is sponsored by Rural Health & Safety of Eastern Iowa, Washington County Public Health, One to One Pharmacy, and Washington County Hospital and Clinics.
