Southeast Iowa Super Conference play started with a bang for the Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball program on Thursday when they made a trip to Packwood and downed Pekin (2-3) in straight sets.
The Wolves came out with decisive victories in all three sets with scores of 25-9, 25-14, and 25-11. Bradie Buffington led a balanced attack with 10 kills and Keely Malone added six. Malone dished out the most assists with 16, Melina Oepping recorded two blocks, Keetyn Townsley registered eight digs, and Aurey Meeker was successful on 21 of 23 serves with five aces.
WMU improves to 4-3 overall, 1-0 in the SEISC, and they get back at it Tuesday against Wapello.
