It’s been several years since the WACO boys’ cross country program has had enough runners for a team score, but in 2021 they do and they got to see themselves in the team standings on Thursday at Elks Fairview Golf Course in Keokuk.
The Warriors placed fifth out of nine teams with 166 points while West Hancock won the meet with 21. Wyatt Dennis paced the team in 14th out of 62 with a time of 19:22. Keiran Luitjens finished 31st (20:48), Jonah Egli 38th (21:24), Isaac Rich 40th (21:37), and Mattias Luitjens 43rd (21:40). The girls’ squad is one short of a team score, but Hannah Dennis led the pack in 22nd (25:50). McKenzie Vradenburg was 30th (27:20), Avery Waterhouse 31st (27:22), and Justine Lynn 32nd (27:43).
The Warriors get back on the course tomorrow in Sigourney.
