It was a long time coming, but the Sigourney volleyball team cashed in a win against South Iowa Cedar League foe Lynnville-Sully with a three set sweep to snap a nine game losing skid in the series.
In front of a home crowd for the first time this year, the Savages rode the momentum of a strong start all the way through with set victories of 25-15, 27-25, and 25-16. Raegan Rozenboom paced the Savage offense with 11 kills, Brookelynn Hemsley dished out 20 assists, Madelynn Hornback recorded 17 digs, and the team was successful on 62 of 72 serves with seven aces. This was the program’s first win over the Hawks (1-5) since 2015.
Sigourney improves to 5-5 overall and they get back at it Monday hosting English Valleys (3-7).
