A Hills man was arrested on felony charges following a traffic stop Friday.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop at about 7:16 a.m. at 308 E Avenue in Kalona, according to the Washington County Communications Center. Deputies arrested 38-year-old Daniel Adam Byrd on a local warrant for possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense and operating while under the influence third or subsequent offense, both class D felonies, possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, speeding, and operating without registration card or plate. Bond was set at $10,900 cash only. Additional charges were filed for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and expired registration.
