Trying to keep the goose egg in the loss column is the mission for the WACO Warrior football team on Friday when they welcome Iowa Valley for homecoming.
The Warriors have been one of the most impressive area teams so far with a 4-0 record including coming off of a 38-13 victory over English Valleys last week. Complimentary football has been the name of the game with the defense giving up just 10 points a contest and giving the offense great field position that has led to 47 points an outing. Simeon Reichenbach leads the Warrior ground game with 485 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns while the defense is paced by Drew Diers’ 15.5 tackles. Iowa Valley is 1-2 and last were in action September 3rd with a 66-42 loss to Winfield-Mt. Union. Dual-threat quarterback Evan Kearney has made up 65% of their offense with 847 total yards and being responsible for 11 touchdowns. The defense has struggled with 57 points given up a game. These two squads have split the last six meetings dating back to 2007.
