Several KCII area cross country teams will make a trip south to Mount Pleasant today for a 16-team meet. 

Washington, Columbus Community, Winfield-Mt. Union, and WACO are the area schools that will hit the course. In the latest rankings by the Iowa High School Track and Field Coaches Association the Demon boys are ranked 18th in class 3A with two individuals in the top 30. Senior Lance Sobaski is sixth and sophomore Micah Rees is 20th. The Columbus boys are also ranked checking in at number 17 in class 1A. Isaac Acosta is ranked 27th in the state. 

Other schools that will be competing today include Central Lee, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Holy Trinity, Keokuk, Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, Oskaloosa, West Burlington/Notre Dame, Wilton, and the host Panthers. The first race begins at 4:30 p.m. this evening at Mount Pleasant High School.
