It was a boost of confidence over the weekend for the WACO volleyball team when they traveled to Cardinal for a tournament and swept the competition.
The Warriors took first place by going 4-0 with sweeps of Cardinal (21-12, 21-9), Highland (21-14, 21-13), Twin Cedars (21-16, 21-4), and Danville (21-10, 21-17). Grace Coble set up a lot of the offense with 51 assists on the day, Ellah Kissell managed 20 kills, and Jocelyn Fulton had 38 digs. The Warriors improved to 10-6 overall.
Highland was next in line by placing second out of five by going 3-1. After losing to WACO, the Huskies bounced back to beat Twin Cedars (21-9, 21-17), Cardinal (21-11, 23-21), and Danville (21-13, 17-21, 16-14). The Huskies move to 7-6 on the season.
Both squads now gear up for the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament on Thursday.
