A Wellman man’s deferred judgment was recently revoked on burglary and assault charges.

Court records show that after violating his probation 25-year-old Taylor Austin Stout is now convicted of second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. Stout shall continue serving probation with credit for time already served, with a 10-year prison sentence for the felony and one year jail sentence for the misdemeanor suspended. He must pay $1,315 in fines with a 15% surcharge, pecuniary damages if applicable, and restitution.

Stout was arrested last June for probation violation after being charged in Linn County for second-degree burglary, a class D felony, possession of marijuana first offense, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He was originally given a deferred judgment on October 23, 2020 for offenses that occurred earlier that year. He entered a residence and assaulted a victim in their bed with a wooden baseball bat. Stout also got into an altercation with a victim, took the victim’s phone, and attempted to drive away with the victim on top of his vehicle, resulting in injuries to the victim.
