The first part of the Southeast Conference volleyball tournament is today and Washington makes a short trip south to Mount Pleasant.

The Demons sit at 2-17 overall and 1-4 in the SEC. Last week they were able to breakthrough in conference with an exciting five set home victory over Fairfield. They will have a chance to make it two in a row against the Trojans, as they will face off with Fairfield, Keokuk, and Mount Pleasant this evening. Head Coach Aaron Six tells KCII Sports his team is starting to turn a corner. “There were many chances in last week’s match against Fairfield where we could have folded, but we didn’t and that says a lot about the girls. That mindset has allowed us to get better. Fundamentally we are starting to get the things down that we need to.”

All of the action begins at 5 p.m. tonight at Mount Pleasant High School. Part two of the conference tournament is Tuesday, October 12th in Fairfield.
