A shorthanded WACO volleyball team was faced with a gauntlet last night when they traveled to battle No. 1 Burlington Notre Dame and the Nikes won in straight sets.
Scores in the three sets included 25-8, 25-3, and 25-9. The Nikes showed out offensively with Gabby Deery recording 13 kills and Megan Harrell adding 12. Notre Dame had 18 aces on the evening.
The Nikes are now 29-6 overall and 7-0 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. The Warriors drop to 16-11, 2-5 in the league, and travel to the Washington tournament tomorrow.
