An area Southeast Iowa Super Conference volleyball matchup took place in Lone Tree on Thursday and the home Lions swept away visiting Columbus Community. 

The Lions squeaked out a 25-23 victory in set one and that opened the doors to a 25-15 and 25-20 close to the match. Despite the loss, Columbus was led by Lily Coil and Victoria Howell with eight kills apiece while Sera Vela had 20 assists and seven digs. 

Lone Tree improves to 6-18 overall and 1-5 in the north division. Columbus drops to 3-19 with a 1-6 league mark.
