Five matches, 12 total sets, made for a long day for the Mid-Prairie volleyball team Saturday as they took the floor in tournament action at Clear Creek Amana. They put together a 2-3 overall record with wins coming over Iowa Valley by 21-16 and 21-12 scores and the Hawks bested No. 15 in class 3A Union La Porte City in three sets 19-21, 21-19 and 15-9. Setbacks on the day included a three set loss to Central DeWitt 14-21, 21-15 and 17-15 and sweeps at the hands of No. 2 in class 4A North Scott 21-8 and 21-16 and the home No. 11 in 4A Clippers 21-12 and 21-11.
At the event, Mid-Prairie was led by 71 assists from Landry Pacha, 68 digs for Dakota Mitchell and 34 kills for Ella Groenewold. The Golden Hawks are 14-11 on the year as they get ready for the River Valley Conference tournament at Monticello Tuesday.
