Several cross country teams from the KCII listening area will finish the regular season schedule tonight near Burlington at Big Hollow Recreation area at a meet hosted by Mediapolis. Those teams include Highland, Hillcrest Academy, Lone Tree, and WACO.

All of these squads had their last competition either a week ago at Heritage Oaks in Wapello for the Southeast Iowa Superconference Championships or on Tuesday at the Mike Jay Invitational in Columbus Junction.

The Hillcrest Ravens and Lone Tree Lions were both on the course last at the SEISC Meet in Wapello. The Raven boys finished 10th in the conference race with 206 points. Individual finishes included Collin Miller 19th in 19:20, Micah Gerber 61st, Jesse Blossom 69th, Jorge Canchola 70th, Diego Ramos 88th, Quang Huynh 99th and Garrett Hurst 100th. The Hillcrest girls were led by Leah Bontrager in seventh with a time of 22:08. Other Ravens included Delaney Shaw 37th, Morgyn Nafziger 60th and Julia Boller 61st. For Lone Tree, the Lady Lions had Vivian Zaruba in 27th with a time of 25 minutes. The Lion boys were led by Jadin Grieser in 73rd in 22:56. Joey Birtcher was 83rd and Tyler Alberhasky 84th.

The Highland and WACO boys and girls were in Columbus Junction. Carlos Valenzuela led the Highland boys in 21st with a time of 21:08. Other Huskies included Brendan Schnoebelen 38th, Jackson Schneider 39th and Andrew Lana 41st. For the Highland girls, Katelyn Waters was 21st in 26:16. For the Warriors, top finish on the boys side came from Isaac Rich in 20th at 21:02. Other WACO boys runners included Wyatt Dennis 35th, Jonah Egli 36th and Deacon Bird 43rd. The WACO girls were paced by Justine Lynn in 18th in 26:02. Other Warrior girls included McKenzie Vradenburg 22nd, Hannah Dennis 23rd and Avery Waterhouse 26th.

Joining these teams tonight at Mediapolis will be Central Lee, Danville, Holy Trinity, Louisa-Muscatine, West Burlington Notre Dame, Pekin, Twin Cedars, Wapello and the home Bulldogs. Action starts at 4:30 and continues into the evening at Big Hollow.
