The South Iowa Cedar League cross country meet took place at Big Springs Shooting Complex in Searsboro on Tuesday and one Sigourney runner cracked the top 10.

The Savage girls only have one competitor this year in Reanah Utterback and the freshman made the most of the opportunity by placing seventh out of 44 runners with a time of 24:19. Lynnville-Sully’s Greenlee Smock won it all in 21:36. The boys had a pair of runners compete with Joey Glandon placing 22nd and Dawson Meyer was 31st.

Eighth grader Troy Klett made headlines by winning the two mile middle school boys’ race (11:47). The Savages now gear up for the state qualifying meet at Iowa City Kickers on Thursday, October 21st.
