The first round assignments for the 50th annual Iowa High School Football Playoffs have been announced, with several teams in the KCII-listening area kicking off this Friday.

District standings and qualifiers were released following last Friday’s week eight games, with district placement determining first round hosts. The eight-player WACO Warriors will go head to head with Edgewood-Colesburg, and in the Class A competition Highland is heading to Lynnville-Sully. For Class 1A Sigourney-Keota is hosting Durant, and the Class 2A Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks are welcoming the Northeast Goose Lake Rebels. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m. this Friday.
