Wayland was the destination for a class 1A region 8 first round volleyball game on Monday and WACO defended their home court with a four set win over Keota.
The final game at home featured the Warriors coming out on top with set scores of 25-9, 25-15, 23-25, and 25-11. Ellah Kissell went off for 23 of the team’s 50 kills. Grace Coble assisted on 33 points, recorded 20 digs, and was a perfect 31 of 31 serving with six aces. Jocelyn Fulton led the defense with 23 digs. The team served at a 96% efficiency with 10 aces.
WACO improves to 21-12 and advances to tomorrow’s quarterfinal round at New London (25-13). The Tigers won the only regular season meeting in four sets on October 5th. Keota closes the season 9-16 and graduate a pair of seniors in Makenzie Jackson and Taylor Kindred.
