lets-glow-crazy

The City of Keota is “glowing” crazy for their first event at their recently installed glow in the dark Kewash Trailhead.

Since finishing the project in July of this year, many residents have had the opportunity to enjoy a walk or bike at night with the help of the naturally lit trailhead. Keota Unlimited and the City of Keota now want to invite the public to a “Let’s Glow Crazy” hike on Saturday, October 30th to help raise the last of the funds needed for the project. Denny Lyle with Keota Unlimited says that they are very happy with how the trail turned out and that they want to get together as a community to celebrate, “We wanted to do something fun and family oriented to highlight the glow stones that we added on the Kewash Trailhead in Keota this summer. We’re also hoping to expose more people to the Kewash biking and hiking trails in general. Especially for those that may have not taken the opportunity to explore the trail before.”

Registration on the day of the event will begin at 6 p.m. with hikers taking to the trail at 6:30. Participants will have the option to choose between a quarter-mile, one mile and two mile hike with participants receiving a glow in the dark wristband while supplies last. Cost is $10 per person or $25 for a family of three or more. A free-will donation chili supper will also be available. All money raised will go towards the $6,000 goal to fully fund the project. Participants are encouraged to register in advance and wear their best glow in the dark outfit. For more information visit here.
