Fall temperatures are finally in southeast Iowa, as a frost advisory was issued for early Friday morning in counties northwest of Washington.
Low temperatures of 30-40 degrees are predicted for Washington County tonight, to possibly dip a couple degrees cooler Saturday night. The National Weather Service Quad Cities Office predicts the lows to gradually warm up to the 50 range by Wednesday night. Iowans are advised to cover up outdoor vegetation or bring plants inside if applicable during cooler conditions. From 1981-2010, the earliest date Washington had a fall freeze of 32 degrees was September 15th, and the latest was November 5th. The earliest for a hard freeze of 28 degrees was September 23rd and the latest was November 16th.
