The volleyball season came to a close at Lone Tree on Wednesday when the Lions made a trip to face No. 1 Burlington Notre Dame in a class 1A regional quarterfinal and fell in a sweep.

The Nikes (33-8) handled business in each set with scores of 25-11, 25-9, and 25-8. Gabby Deery led Notre Dame with 11 kills. Lone Tree was led by Alivia Hemsted with three kills, Ella Buser managed five assists, and Riley Krueger recorded five digs. 

Notre Dame advances to the semifinals where they host Winfield-Mt. Union on Monday. The Lions close the year 7-21 and they say goodbye to seven seniors in Hemsted, Alyssa Knock, Ellen Carow, Kayla Dautremont, Kylie Patterson, Chloe Mills, and Lexi Norris.
