Residents of Columbus Junction are asked to give their input for community improvements at a focus group next week.

Louisa Development Group will be hosting a focus group meeting in downtown Columbus Junction in front of the Washington State Bank beginning at 5:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Executive Director Cole Smith shares what led the organization to hold a focus group, “I think it was a general consensus of the community members that I have talked to about wanting to improve the presence and appearance of our downtown because it has such a significant impact on our community. Really it’s a cornerstone of our foundation of our community. It’s important to have it in good order and have it be a place that is going to really showcase our community for really how great of a place it is.”

All community members are encouraged to come to the focus group as they will be taking a walkaround of the downtown area. Smith adds that this is the first step in the process of making improvements and that the development group can begin to make next steps once they have received input from the community.
