The Washington County Tactical Team was among several agencies that investigated a large drug-trafficking organization operated out of Burlington.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa announced Tuesday that eight Burlington men were charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine for their roles in a multi-year joint federal and state investigation. Four of the defendants were arrested Tuesday and one of them was previously arrested and federally charged with felon in possession of a firearm. Those arrested include Clyde Macks Stewart, Jr., Rudolph Sinclair Allen, Brian Keith Davis, Jr., Gregory Jermain Johnson, and Marcus Allen Johnson. They all face mandatory minimum sentences of at least 10 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment. The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Taskforce, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and several other southeast Iowa agencies. Law enforcement officers seized four guns, over $13,000 cash, marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia at six Burlington locations.
