A Washington man was arrested for an alleged felony domestic abuse assault incident Monday.

Court records show the incident occurred at about 5:25 a.m. in the 900 block of North Marion Avenue. The Washington Police Department was called to a residence where 25-year-old Odilio Gregorio Gutierrez was said to have violated a no-contact order while allegedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Gutierrez struck a female victim on her head and stomach with his hands. The victim also stated that Gutierrez grabbed her by the neck, and threw her to the floor. Gutierrez is charged with domestic abuse assault impeding air or blood flow, a class D felony. He is noted to have previously been arrested for domestic abuse and he admitted to knowingly violating a no contact order. A criminal mischief charge is pending.
