As Veterans Day is honored this week, a statewide organization is hosting an event to inform how Washington and Johnson county communities and businesses can help support veterans and in turn better their communities.

Local business owners are invited to attend a panel discussion hosted by Home Base Iowa. Seventy of Iowa’s 99 counties have met the criteria to be a designated Home Base Iowa county, which connects veterans, military personnel, and their family members with resources in their area. This includes Iowa, Louisa, Jefferson, and Henry. Participants will hear from a panel of current Home Base Iowa partners and testimonials and success stories related to the program. The event is free to attend and will last from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. Participants are asked to register in advance.
