Those wanting to dive into a new book without the disruptions of everyday life are welcome to a special program at the Washington Public Library tomorrow.

The library is hosting their second of two “Silent Reading Parties” from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Washington State Bank meeting room. Library Director Cary Ann Siegfried encourages the public to put their phones on silent and pick up a book with other avid readers, “This is for some of those people that the moment you sit down to read a book the dog wants to go out or the kid wants you to make them a sandwich or a neighbor visits or whatever so this is just an uninterrupted time to come and bring your book and read with other people that want to do the same thing.”

Adults who’d like another excuse to visit their local library can attend the “Book Ladies… And Gents” book club at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Participants are asked to read anything nonfiction that is on the new shelf section. For more information on upcoming library programming, visit here.
