The Mid-Prairie and Sigourney girls basketball teams participated at the Pekin basketball jamboree in Packwood on Monday. The Golden Hawk girls took down Albia 40-10 in one half of action. Mid-Prairie started the game on a 28-2 run that lasted the entire first quarter. Maddie Nonnenmann led the Golden Hawk offense with 14 points. Amara Jones stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, seven steals and six assists. Landry Pacha had three boards to lead the Hawks on the glass.

Sigourney took care of Moravia 26-17. The Savages got out to a quick start that included a 13-4 run that lasted the entire first frame. Carly Goodwin lit things up from downtown. The sophomore led the Sigourney offense with 19 points including five long balls.

Mid-Prairie has one more tune-up before they start the season, traveling to Mt. Pleasant for a Hall of Pride game against the Panthers Friday. The Hawks open the year on Tuesday when they host Durant. The Savages also have one more scrimmage on the schedule, hosting Cardinal tomorrow night in a Hall of Pride game. Sigourney officially starts the new year December 7th at English Valleys.
