Two Burlington men have been sentenced to federal prison for their involvement in a long-standing drug operation.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa announces that 39-year-old Kendrick Ramon Page was sentenced to 340 months in prison and 20-year-old Breon Raquon Armstrong was sentenced to 210 months in prison with neither man receiving parole. Page, Armstrong, and six other co-defendants were charged in November of 2019 following the execution of numerous search warrants in Burlington and other locations throughout Iowa and Illinois.
Page and Armstrong were convicted by a jury in July of this year of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, including ice methamphetamine and crack cocaine. Page led a drug trafficking organization that operated primarily out of Burlington since 2001, according to the evidence presented at trial. Page recruited others including Armstrong to travel to Burlington from Shreveport, Louisiana to sell drugs. The district court found Page was responsible for the distribution of over 100 pounds of ice methamphetamine.
Both Page and Armstrong were found to have possessed firearms related to their drug trafficking activities and the district court found Page used credible threats of violence to further his drug trafficking activities. Other individuals associated with this drug trafficking organization have also been federally charged in the Southern District of Iowa, the Central District of Illinois, and the Northern District of Texas. Several agencies assisted in the investigations including the Mount Pleasant Police Department, and the Henry, Louisa and Washington county sheriff’s offices.
