Today’s for post-Thanksgiving rest, as tomorrow is packed with community events to get in the holiday spirit in Washington.

The day begins with Breakfast with Santa from 8-10 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church and the 15th annual Jingle Bell Run with day-of registration starting at 8 a.m. and the race beginning at 9 a.m. in front of JP’s 207. Proceeds go to PAWS & More Animal Shelter and holiday lights around the square. The public is encouraged to think local for holiday shopping during Small Business Saturday, and at 5 p.m. will be the Lights of Love Memorial tree lighting ceremony and the lighted parade starting at 5:30. Area families have another opportunity to meet Mr. Claus as Santa’s House will be open from 6:30-8 p.m. tonight and 1-4 p.m. tomorrow at Greiner Buildings located on East Main Street. KCII’s jolly Big Red Radio is providing the soundtrack to the Jingle Bell Run and broadcasting live from 8-10 a.m., and 4-6 p.m. and announcing the parade during Washington’s Snow Blitz.
