The Kalona Historical Village and Museum is offering to plan your holiday party for coworkers, friends, and others this December.

The village is opening its doors to host holiday parties with a presentation of the “History in a Cloth Bag” exhibit by local historian Mike Zahs. The exhibit presents Zahs’ extensive collection of fabric items that are made solely out of cloth feed bags with other items from the 1920’s and 30’s. Village Managing Director Nancy Roth says  this is the last opportunity for residents to see the attraction, “It’s an exhibit that you’ll want to see. This was something different that we’ve done. We’ve never borrowed a complete exhibit like this before so it’s been a learning curve for us. But Mike has been really easy to work with, he knows a lot of people. So he’s actually pulled in a lot of people from different areas that have slowly come here to see his exhibit.”

Roth added that Zahs will add a seasonal touch with  pieces of his Nativity collection on display. Those interested in scheduling a party are asked to have 15 or more guests in their group and cost is $28 per person. Participants can expect the party to last around three hours. HIM Hearth and Home Catering will provide dinner. The Historical Village will be available to schedule parties until February 1st. For contact information, visit here.
